MAP developed two separate programs of requirements packages to provide a basis for NIST to procure a design-build contractor to enhance security and operations at NIST’s two key entrances. Tasks included defining the technical specifications for space and infrastructure, providing requirements to achieve LEED Gold or higher, identifying site constraints including topology/geology and circulation, and ensuring continuity of security and screening procedures. Part of the Gate F enhancements included a net zero energy shipping and receiving facility. Other built components included visitor centers at each of the gates and a commercial vehicle screening facility at Gate F.
